Mines in County Armagh
A border county whose south-western hills, straddling the old marches with County Monaghan, carried a scattered but genuine 19th-century silver-lead mining district — small, Cornish-run ventures worked amid a countryside more often remembered for famine, emigration and agrarian unrest than for industry.
