MineArchiveWauchope family of Edmonstone
The lairds of Edmonstone, near Danderhall, who owned the coal on their estate: Andrew Wauchope took the 1725 licence for its steam engine, John Wauchope ran a fire-clay works at the colliery in the 1850s, and Sir John Don Wauchope sold its plant in 1863.
