Thomas Clayton

A Denbighshire coalowner, of Bryn Mally Hall near Wrexham. The Durham Mining Museum records him as an owner of Gwersyllt Colliery, and Welsh Coal Mines as the man who opened Broughton New colliery a couple of hundred yards south of Broughton Hall in 1883. The two are taken to be the same man on the strength of the name, the coalfield and the date; nothing on record states the identity outright.
