Samborne, Smith and Company
The owners of the Conygre pits at Timsbury in the Somerset coalfield, recorded against the colliery in the official List of Mines for 1908 and in the Durham Mining Museum's returns. The Sambornes were a long-established Timsbury family; the earliest known reference to coal in the parish is in John Sambourne's will of 1572.
