R. and J. Durie
The Durie family worked the coal at Elphinstone in the parish of Tranent, as Durie and Nisbet in the 1842 Commission and as R. and J. Durie in the later Mines Inspectors' returns. Five interconnected streets in the village are named Duries Park after them.
