Portland Colliery Company, Limited

The Ayrshire company that worked the Portland pits at Hurlford, Crookedholm and Kilmarnock, with Allan Gilmour as managing director and Daniel Gilmour as colliery manager. It also ran the Portland Colliery Brickworks at Crookedholm, listed in the 1901 Directory of Clayworkers as making compositions and fire bricks.
