Mostyn Coal and Iron Company

The name taken by the Mostyn family's colliery concern after an ironworks was opened in 1802 to use its coal. It was prosperous from the start, funded the Bychan Embankment of 1843 that reclaimed some 70 acres from the Dee, and went into liquidation in 1879, the lease then being sold on as a going concern.
