J. and G. Wells Ltd

The Eckington and Mosborough colliery family, trading as Messrs J. and G. Wells and later J. and G. Wells and Co. Limited. Rooted in the local trade from the 1840s, the firm sank Westthorpe at Killamarsh from 1923 and built six hundred houses in the village for its workers in 1927.
