MineArchiveGriff Colliery Company Ltd
Incorporated on 12 September 1882 to take over direct operation of the Griff pits from the Newdigate family; ran the colliery until nationalisation brought in the National Coal Board in 1947, and erected the colliery's own First World War memorial to its workers.
