Firth, Barber and Company

Worked the Oaks Colliery near Barnsley — also known as Ardsley Main — in its early decades, and the owner named in the report on the explosion of 5 March 1847 that killed 73 men and boys. Not to be confused with Firth, Bamber and Company, recorded at the same pit under that spelling from the 1860s.
