Carndochan Mining Company
Manchester-based company formed in May 1863 to work Castell Carn Dochan Mine, chaired by the Liberal MP John Bright with Thomas Readwin as secretary. It worked the mine through several distinct phases — full-scale milling in 1863-66, a brief revival under Captain John Parry in 1869-71, and further phases from 1887 and again from 1894 — before the mine finally closed in 1904 or 1905.
