Overview

A two-level coal mine beneath Oreburgh City, said to produce the richest-quality coal anywhere, and worked in parallel as a fossil site — its foreman moonlights as the city's Rock-type Gym Leader.

History

Oreburgh grew up as a coal-mining city in the Sinnoh region; its mine is also a notable source of fossils, enough to support a dedicated Oreburgh Mining Museum in the city above.

Workings

The mine descends two basement levels (B1F and B2F), worked by miners and explored by trainers for wild Pokémon encounters and evolutionary stones.

What became of it

Roark, Oreburgh's Gym Leader and the mine's own foreman, can be found working at the bottom level; after demonstrating the field move Rock Smash to a visiting trainer, he returns to the city to run his Gym, where he specialises in Rock-type Pokémon.

Recorded claims

Each claim is marked with its basis — explicit canon, MineArchive inference, adaptation only, or fandom interpretation — and attached to the source(s) below. Where tellings disagree, both are kept.
